What is AI Traffic Mover (AITM)?
AITM includes several tools to make the FS AI Traffic even more realistic. With AITM it's easy to manipulate the AI Traffic in many ways like rearrange, move, export, analyze, edit aircraft and much more. You can create Projects with different Flightplans and merge them together. If you don't know anything about FS AI Traffic then check out the TTools manuals first.
Please note that you use AITM at your own risk!
But don't be afraid nothing bad will happen if you use AITM. Promised! :)
The new Help should now be a lot easier to navigate. The menu on the left side will always be visible. Some menu entries have a special icon. So you can see what's new and what changed since the last version.
Shuffle
Shuffle is the process of assigning specific AI Flights to an airline so you don't see only FS Airlines flying around. AITM uses several criteria to find a matching aircraft. First it checks your installed FS aircraft and finds out which airlines you have currently installed. Then it looks in a special configuration file called "AITM_AL.CFG". In this file you can configure which Region, Country, State, City and Airport an airline belongs to. A list of matching airlines is made depending on the airport location (you can also tell AITM that for example United should fly 50 percent of all USA flights). Now all aircraft in these airlines are checked to determine if they are usable for the flight (Flight Level, Distance, etc. is checked against aircraft limits). These performance values can be configured in the file "AITM_AC.CFG" which also groups your aircraft depending on their size. A list of aircraft is made and one will be randomly selected from this list. Optionally you can also automatically generate region or country specific tail numbers (also configurable!), change flight types (IFR/VFR) and much more ...
After finishing the shuffle process you will get an even more realistic simulator environment. As real as it get's !
Move
Ever wanted to move specific airlines and/or aircraft types from one airport (overlay) to another? Normally that would be a hard work. But AITM helps you to do this in just a few seconds. This function is especially for those people who use Overlay Airports to split their traffic.
Export/Search
This function allows you to export flights matching special user defined criteria. Useful if you want to merge standard FS Traffic with real Flightplans. Let's say you have Flightplans for the USA and now you want to remove the old USA flights from your current traffic. Start AITM. Choose Export and enter "United States" in the country box. You'll get a list of all flights from the USA. Now you can save the flights not matching this criteria (click "Export remaining"), because these are the flights you want to keep. Now you can easily add your downloaded real USA flights to the saved list. Voila you're finished. No need to spend hours of search and replace.
Airport Timetable
With this function you can easily print an Arrival/Departure timetable for your favorite airports. You can also include airport overlays, so you are able to print the complete airport traffic in the same chart. A nice goodie is included for all AFCAD-Designers. The Timetable statistics will show the maximum parking used at a time. So one can add more gates if needed.
Flightplan Projects
You often have to merge plans into one to get them compiled with TTools? Then the AITM Flightplan Project is the right tool for you. This function allows you to have a project with several different Flightplans and "Aircraft.txt" files. Easily edit the list and only one click is needed to merge and compile them.
Aircraft Editor
The Aircraft Editor allows you to easily change the most important aircraft properties like Airline, ATC Model/Type, Title, Cruise speed, Texture, etc. So you don't need to open each "AIRCRAFT.CFG" with notepad. The editor is not meant as a replacement of Microsoft's FSEdit. With this editor you can now also easily edit the new FS2004 ATC parking parameters and automatically assign the codes and types based on a config file.
Flightplan Aircraft Editor
The Flightplan Aircraft Editor lets you easily edit the "Aircraft.txt" file. You can substitute an aircraft and all related flights will be assigned to the new aircraft.
Analyzing and optimizing
The Flightplan analyzing and optimizing features are one of the most powerful functions of AITM. You can check your plan for duplicate flights, unknown airports, incorrect Flight Levels, incorrect Flight Times (min./max. Turn-Around, depart before arrival, etc.), Aircraft not found in FS. But AITM can not only show those flights, it can also correct some of the problems. So you will get less flights you have to fix manually.
Airport search and information
Do you need some airport information without opening FS? Then the Airport search and information dialog is the right tool for you. The Airport Information screen will list all runways, gates and frequencies.
Gate resizing
Ever tried to resize some of your gates? For example creating some gates for your cargo traffic. It's a time consuming thing to do that. Open AFCAD, edit the size, save and then the next airport. AITM's gate resizing feature will make this a pleasure. Just tell AITM the parking type, the location where you want to change the size (Region, Country, Airport, etc.), the new size and AITM will change the gates in seconds for the desired airports
